Decepticon is covered better in the parent article
- I disagree. Information is better covered in the parent article, but that can be easily remedied. This article is the logical place that a researcher will look if he needs to develop informational source on Decepticon forces, who clearly represent a threat to Autobots, Autobot-sympathists and neutrally aligned forces. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.250.65.158 (talk) 19:16, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Speedy Delete?
[edit]Where'd the speedy delete come from? It's not listed in article or image history. - MSTCrow 02:07, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
Vehicle Mode Questions
[edit]- Which Decepticon turns into a C-130 Hercules?
- Which Decepticon turns into a M2 Bradley?
- Which Decepticon turns into a C-17 Globemaster III?
- Which Decepticon turns into a Tu-160 Blackjack?
- Which Decepticon turns into a RAH-66 Comanche?

Popularity?
[edit]Let me guess. They are popular due to they turn into military vehicles and have high rating for no reason.(TougHHead 06:33, 4 November 2007 (UTC))
List of G1
[edit]I know that there is already a list of Autobots and list of Decepticons pages, however I would like to know if anyone would be opposed to a Generation 1 list for this page which has both Autobots and Decepticons. It is a bit more compact and you can view it here Libro0 00:42, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Decepticon Logo
[edit]Since the logo was changed by an anonymous user without discussion I am going to replace the other image. I will only do this once since to me it really doesn't matter one way or another. So if someone wants the new one go ahead and change it back. It does not affect the article content. Libro0 (talk) 18:41, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- I think the current logo should be replaced with something clearer and more "distilled". -- 66.92.0.62 (talk) 02:57, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
Megatron Origin: Did Megatron Kill Sentinel Prime at end?
[edit]Under the section on IDW Publishing, when summarizing the events in "The Transformers: Megatron Origin" the article claims that Megatron killed Sentinel Prime. However, it is unclear in the graphic novel if Prime was actually killed or was just in stasis lock. Does anybody have a source that can clarify what Sentinel Prime's status was at the end of "Megatron Origin"?
Diciasette
[edit]I find it highly impropable that the name "Decepticon" was influenced by the Italian word diciasette (misspelled "dicasette" in the article, I have already corrected it). Even the claim that the number 17 is unlucky in Italy because vixi is an anagram of XVII sounds extremely far-fetched, but for the moment, I'll take the contributor's word for it. However, I find the similarity between "Decepticon" and diciasette far too distant (what, both begin with the letter "D"?) to be anything but a coincidence. JIP | Talk 17:29, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
don't change a thing
[edit]This article is hilarious. Don't change anything.

Requested move 30 August 2019
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: withdrawn. Sorry, I missed that extra letter C n DeceptiCon. I guess I need new glasses. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 21:42, 30 August 2019 (UTC)
– The word "deception" is a long-standing dictionary term, which should not be hijacked by a subset of a popular culture topic. There is no clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 16:31, 30 August 2019 (UTC)
- @BrownHairedGirl: Decepticon and deception are not the same. The former is not a word in the dictionary. PC78 (talk) 18:22, 30 August 2019 (UTC)
- @PC78: the first character of a wikilink is not case-sensitive, so for the purpose of article titles there is no distinction between Deception and deception. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 20:28, 30 August 2019 (UTC)
- @BrownHairedGirl: I think you need to look at this again, decepticon and deception. The spelling of these two words is not the same. PC78 (talk) 20:36, 30 August 2019 (UTC)

- Speedy close per PC78. This is for deceipticons, not deception (note the extra c). SnowFire (talk) 20:36, 30 August 2019 (UTC)

Helpfulness isn't good
[edit]All that's here is a bunch of poorly worded information about what the Japanese call decepticons and what forms they have. No examples, no information about their villain story. Disappointed. 24.189.110.244 (talk) 05:12, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
Merge proposal
[edit]It doesn't really seem like Autobot and Decepticon are notable by themselves. Perhaps they could be merged into Cybertronian or Transformer (fictional species)? 2605:B40:13E7:F600:949F:C33D:7BD5:A7CC (talk) 23:47, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose: I disagree. "Autobot" and "Decepticon" are the common terms used for these character types. "Cybertronian" would confuse people. Toughpigs (talk) 21:03, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
- But are they notable by themselves? 2605:B40:13E7:F600:F1C9:F6F7:4BBF:BED8 (talk) 02:34, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- I remove merge template because is not necessary 2001:44C8:44A4:A84:A0B7:DF6E:2B04:4627 (talk) 02:36, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- What are you not understanding here? The discussion. Has not. Been. Resolved. 2605:B40:13E7:F600:F1C9:F6F7:4BBF:BED8 (talk) 02:38, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- Your argument appears to be "let's put two non-notable things together, and the result will be notable". That doesn't make any sense. If "Autobot" is not notable, then "Cybertronian" is also not notable. Toughpigs (talk) 02:58, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- Okay then, maybe an AFD would be better. 38.15.33.113 (talk) 13:13, 9 May 2024 (UTC)

Intro section plagiarized from TFWIKI
[edit]From https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Decepticon
"The Decepticons are one of the primary factions in the Transformers mythos. They are typically concerned with such things as conquering Cybertron, defeating the Autobots, amassing large quantities of energon, developing powerful weaponry, and beating people up. Not necessarily in that order." Kenyapithecus (talk) 02:57, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
Factions
[edit]This is going to sound really stupid, but what kind of factions are we looking for here? Most of the -icons groups (the usual ones) have been listed already. 92.39.202.66 (talk) 21:20, 8 October 2024 (UTC)
