Picture sizing
[edit]The picture sizing need to be worked on. A was trying to focus more on the World of Outlaws series, as it the largest sprint series. Would like to have more information on the history of this series.
A lot of work needs to be done here on formatting and content, prefereably by someone very knowledgable about the sport and the recent developments. The discussion about DIRT, TV coverage, and the new series should be made more explicit from the "Winged Sprint Cars" section, for one...series of sprint cars should be listed elsewhere too. If noone else takes it on in the next couple of days at least I'll work on the formatting aspect, but it would be great if people who knew more about it than me took on the work. - I was familiar with the WoO around 5 years ago, so I used what I know to edit the article. I'm unfamiliar with the NST, so someone who's familiar with the series needs to straighten out the POV from the section. Royalbroil 04:07, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
High speeds?
[edit]I used to steward with NSRA in the past. We raced asphalt sprint cars. At Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, WA, we often had cars exceed 210 miles per hour. There were clouds behind the wings and condensation vortices like you would see as a fighter jet maneuvered. I wish I could get pictures of such a phenomenon, but it's very difficult to photograph when a car is passing at such a high speed. Evergreen Speedway opens up the big 5/8 mile oval for us.
210 MPH is apocryphal. USAC sprint cars were exceeding 150 at Kentucky Motor Speedway in the early 2000's and were canceled because of the instability of the cars. Not on a 5/8 mile track, no way. It's physically impossible.
{NO SOURCE AND NO ONE KNOWS WHO YOU ARE. Besides you are really pushing the bullshit boundries with the 210 mph thing} — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:7080:7603:2F54:F66D:4FF:FE78:6C0C (talk) 02:21, 17 July 2022 (UTC)
Requested move
[edit]Sprint cars → Sprint car - I would have moved it, but there is a redirect at sprint car. Royalbroil 15:04, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
There is also a Sprintcars (one word) article that should perhaps be amalgamated with this one?

- Comment. The request at Wikipedia:Requested moves doesn't match this suggestion (it's already located at Sprint car, anyway). I would support a move to Sprint car racing, as there are precedents at Stock car racing and Kart racing. Kafziel 16:12, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Can someone write a real article with actual research behind it in stead of copy pasting what is on the Woo website? Not to mention people un sourced bs that they have added.
Requested move 2
[edit]Sprint car → Sprint car racing. Sorry, I should have made another one of these. This was moved from Sprint cars to Sprint car via requested moves a month or so ago at Royalbroil's request. I talked to Royalbroil about this already and he is OK with it. Recury 17:25, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Spam links
[edit]The article should only list the primary tracks that it goes to, or else its schedule for 2007 should be added in a section. I never heard of the track that you keep adding, so you need to assert its notability by creating an article for it. You should not add an external link to a single specific track. I will find and quote the wiki-policy if you want. Royalbroil Talk Contrib 15:02, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
