Signing comments
[edit]Hello Gothicform. Just wanted to say that it's standard wikipedia convention to sign yr comments on talk pages. I noticed you hadn't done so with yr recent comment on the English language talk page. It helps to make the conversation more personable and easier to follow. As described above in Flockmeal's welcome message you can sign yr name by just typing four tildes (~) which will be converted into yr name plus current date and time. Also when replying to someone if you prefix yr comment with a colon it will indent it. --Oska 10:56, May 22, 2005 (UTC)
- Like so. --Oska 10:56, May 22, 2005 (UTC)
New version of panorama
[edit]Hi Gothicform. Have you uploaded your preferred version of Image:Lincoln pano1a.jpg? dbenbenn | talk 22:06, 5 August 2005 (UTC)
- Also, I noticed you licensed some of your photos for non-commercial use only. These will have to be deleted unless you're willing to release them under the GFDL or some other free license. dbenbenn | talk 14:33, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
No im not willing to do them under the GDFL, for a start ive already commercially sold them to clients and secondly i dont fancy people making money out of my work without me being compensated. non commercial use is cool, commercial use is just cheap. i have however started taking a pic for wikipedia everytime i go somewhere that i can put under a free license. --Gothicform 14:56, 1 September 2005 (UTC)
- Alright, I've nominated them for deletion at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion/2005 September 13. dbenbenn | talk 18:57, 13 September 2005 (UTC)
- and yet he's perfectly willing to use other people's images for his own financial gain on his site. Go figure.
- You dont know what you're talking about. Whoever you are??? Perhaps you're unaware that ALL images on that site if someone asks for licensing details like a company we pass them on to whoever took the photo and don't take a single penny (I could work as an agent taking a cut but I don't)? ALL images on the site are used with the permission of others and we don't make a penny from them. This is completely different to GNUing images I took personally which rather reduces their market value. I am only too happy to contribute images to wikipedia and regularly do, just not the very top ranked ones. You're not privy to the vast amount of pic requests we get and what happens with them so maybe you shouldn't judge so quickly. Go figure. --Gothicform 14:31, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Just a quick Thank You for the nice work on The Stump. At first I thought I'd come back to the wrong page, because it now looks so much better than before! I especially like the photos taken from the roof and the inside. Good job! --JanesDaddy 20:43, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- Pathetic. You're either Gothicform, or he's paying you to suck up to him. The guy is poison, stop pretending otherwise. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.125.166.56 (talk) 23:12, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
3 Revert Rule
[edit]Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly, as you are doing in Emporis. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you. Gzkn 02:04, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
Mediation request regarding Emporis "controversy" section
[edit]Montalto has requested informal mediation regarding the Emporis "Controversy" section and has identified Gothicform, MatthieuN, UnitedPakistan, Elk Salmon, and 86.6.160.50 as involved parties.
I've tried to summarize the dispute on the mediation page. If you are interested in mediation, please let me know either on the mediation page or on the Emporis talk page -- I have some ideas that I think may be helpful to resolve the dispute constructively.
Thanks -- I'm looking forward to working with you all. TheronJ 15:12, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit]I am unable to see on the source page of this image that is it released under the creative commons liscence. Did you gain permission from the copyright holder because if so please add a copy of the email/communication in the image description page! Million_Moments (talk) 15:38, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- cool. thanks! Million_Moments (talk) 08:11, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of James Newman (journalist)
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article James Newman (journalist), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. File permission problem with File:P1010070-01.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:P1010070-01.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. SchuminWeb (Talk) 20:56, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
