This was a good idea to try but the links that are suggested are almost all irrelevant to a definition of art. It is a word with wide meanings, the outward links; modern world and social heirarchy only serve to broaden the def (not a good idea when a defininiton is by its very nature a narrowing), contemporary artist may be a good link from a 'contemporary art' page.
