Untitled
[edit]Besides the footballer, there are numerous notable guys named Michael Ball. The leading underwater diver is one Australian skin diver. In Germany, there is the sculptor. There are noted U.S. and Canadian actors and singers with the name, as well as numerous influential business leaders. In Ireland there is a renowned classical composer and musician. While not exactly the "John Smith" of names, it is fairly common. There are quite a few carrying it who are more noted than the footballer. A blog covering these folk is Michael Ball Only Club.
Could someone make a disambiguation page for Michael Ball? I don't know how to do it but I think it is necessary since there is also an article about the footballer.137.224.252.10
I created the disambiguation page. Bertil 13:58, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
Two pages?
[edit]There seems to be two pages called Michael Ball (singer), with a minor difference. One is at: Michael_Ball_(singer) and the other is at Michael_Ball_%28singer%29. The former has no image, the later does. The text on both pages appears to be identical. I don't know why this is, but I think its wrong. Nicgarner (talk) 14:49, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- Looks like its already fixed, or it was a one time error, as I can't reproduce the error now. Nicgarner (talk) 14:52, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- "%28singer%29" is the same as "(singer)" in computer talk, so they both link to the same page. Snowman (talk) 15:04, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Recent Photo?
[edit]Have you seen Michael Ball recently? He was on The Apprentice,You're Fired, and I don't think I'm being too out of left field by saying that he looks nothing like the photo in this article now! Can we get an up-to-date photo? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.82.132.244 (talk) 06:22, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
- I guess that the current image is an adequate likeness of him for the year when it was taken, and the date the photograph was taken is included in the caption. Additional images will be welcome. Snowman (talk) 09:52, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Discography
[edit]This page badly needs a discography. Ball had a No.1 album in 1992, yet there's no mention of it anywhere (but there is one of a No.11 album!)--Tuzapicabit (talk) 12:25, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
And how about a flimography? For example he played the role of Henry Purcell in England, My England. --WolfD59 (talk) 10:39, 12 March 2016 (UTC)
Failed Skydive?
[edit]Surely something needs added about this? http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4161/is_19991031/ai_n14499201/ I was surprised to not see it since it's OLD news. 86.161.67.71 (talk) 13:00, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
Pruned
[edit]Was shocked to find that whole sections had been devoted to 2008, 09 and 2010 - with them listing every TV appearance and every show he performed. I've pruned this right back and put it all under Recent career. Some references wouldn't go amiss either.--Tuzapicabit (talk) 00:18, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
Something similar should be done with Cheryl (entertainer). 78.149.214.161 (talk) 10:38, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
Personal life
[edit]Re the warning at the top of this page: "This article must adhere to the policy on biographies of living persons. Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately, especially if potentially libellous." This also appears in the Wikipedia articles for Barry Manilow, Cliff Richard and, until he recently when he finally came out of the closet, Ricky Martin. Vauxhall1964 (talk) 11:17, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
He has a close friendship with a member of the Royal family. 78.149.214.161 (talk) 10:40, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

A very good article, maybe lacking a bit about his early life. Should be GA with a little more work. Tim 13:58, 27 February 2007 (UTC) |
