A bit of history on the word

It is worth mentioning according to the historicracing.com site, Jacques Ickx, the Belgian motoring journalist and historian as well as being the father of Jacky first coined the word Moto Cross. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Willirennen (talk • contribs) 17:47, 4 May 2006.

USDA 2-stroke Ban

I removed the reference to the USDA 2-stroke ban because:

- I could find nothing to support any sort of USDA action against 2-stroke motorcycles.

- The USDA could not ban the distribution of 2-stroke motorcycles, only their use on USDA managed lands.

- Even if somehow true, this violates the world view mandate for wikipedia content.

Was not called Hare Scramble

The history section contains the following non-sequitur; the activity became known as "hare scrambles", said to have originated in the phrase, "a rare old scramble"

Hare is not the same as rare. The term 'hare scramble' is modern and American. In the UK it was called 'Scrambling' then later 'Motocross'Dean1954 (talk) 09:55, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

hare scramble

Is there any source to suggest motocross comes from and was originally called "hare scramble". On the dedicated Wikipedia page, it is clear that both sports are very very different. Esteban Outeiral Dias (talk) 23:35, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
