Zamfir's ancestry

[edit]

olá. sou Glasiana Zanfi. Moro no Brasil, meu pai sempre me falava que sua família era da Romenia e que tinhamos parentes lá, mas nunca entramos em contato com eles, gostaria muito de conhecê-los. Até mais . — Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.2.163.208 (talkcontribs) 05:29, September 3, 2004‎ (UTC)

Please use English in English Wikipedia. Many thanks. -- PFHLai 05:31, 2004 Sep 3 (UTC)

It's okay, I can read Portugese (I think). She's (he?) saying her family may perhaps be of Romanian origin. Alexander 007 00:16, 21 Mar 2005 (UTC)

It reads more or less as, "Hi. I am Glasiana Zanfi. I live in Brazil, my father always told me his family was from Romania and that we have relatives there, but we never were in touch with them, would very much like to know them. See you later." I'm guessing the writer thinks she's related to Zamfir, but I have no idea how common a surname that might be in Romania. At any rate, it's really not discussion of the article, so we may as well drop the discussion. Lawikitejana 16:19, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is Zamfir of Roma Gypsy ancestry?

No, he isn't. It is a fabrication, an untrue gossip. 193.29.77.101 09:29, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Moldavian

[edit]

Who sais Zamfir is Moldavian ? Does HE claim he is Moldavian ? I mean, born in Romania, living in Romania, playing and improving the Romanian pan flute, how many coincidences ! --Venatoreng 22:32, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's a misunderstanding. Moldavian means from the historical province of Moldovia of which at least half of the territory resides within Romania. There was no Moldovan Republic when he was born.--Helixdq 22:11, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Zamfir accused of anti-semitism and Holocaust denial

[edit]

[1], [2]. Sources are reliable. I won't work the information into the article, though (yet). --RCS (talk) 20:29, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lonely Shepherd

[edit]

I've found a mix up concerning this song. George's page claims the song was written by James Last, James Last's page claims it was written by an 'unknown artist'. Need to look into that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.245.8.40 (talk) 21:08, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Famzir

[edit]

A TV commercial parody promotes the album of "Famzir, the Master of the Slide Whistle." Anyone know who created this parody?67.119.2.45 (talk) 06:56, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fix POV adjectives

[edit]

Somebody please fix this entire article. It's full of POV adjectives. The person who left them there is obviously very bitter towards the subject. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.64.13.47 (talk) 20:55, 22 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism

[edit]

Removed "Criticism" section which contained no actual criticism other than an unsourced claim that he's had personality conflicts with other musicians. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.203.70.196 (talk) 00:35, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Award

[edit]

In 1971 Zamfir won the "Cithare d'Or' (a medal) from the 'Association française de la Musique récréative' which was awarded in the Salle Pleyel. I was there but have no documents other than the silver medal which was given to our group 'Balalaika Ensemble Tchaïka'. Just saying.
