Welcome
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. I saw your comment about Custodes on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion and thought I should drop you a note. The request for deletion of your entry is not because people want to beat up on the newbies, though it sure can seem that way sometimes. Instead, there's a set of Wikipedia policy called Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, which cover the sorts of articles and topics that should and should not be included in the Wikipedia. Take a look at those documents, learn, and explore. If you just want to practice editing in a space where you can make whatever changes you would like, you can use the Wikipedia:Sandbox and experiment there. Otherwise, if you are interested, it would be great if you could contribute to the site in whatever way you see fit, such as editing existing articles or modifying articles of interest to you to include further information to make the site better for everyone. If you have any questions along the way, you can drop me a note at my talk page and I'd be happy to help. Thanks for stopping by and welcome to Wikipedia. Zachlipton 07:17, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Baccyak4H 02:13, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
welcome :)
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. :) A quick note: the best way to sign your comments on talk pages is with four tildes (~~~~) - that will add your username, the date, and appropriate links to your user page. HTH. Vashti 22:18, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:DKirk.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:DKirk.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:06, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
