I question the wisdom of moving this article from "the recorder." Wasn't that a better name than "recorder flute"? Yes, it's imperfect--but, I mean, recorders are never called "recorder flutes," or I've never heard them called that! --LMS

That's how it was listed in Music basic topics, so perhaps I just propagated another error. However, "The_Recorder" seems quite stilted to me (and I assume we don't want to start a trend of people adding "The_" on the front of anything that isn't a proper name), and "Recorder" seems too ambiguous. I won't object to anyone coming up with a better one though. ---Alan Millar

What if we had a "Musical instruments" page (do we?) I'm at work so can only sneak looks here and there... If we did(do) we could have Musical Instruments/Recorder and it would be a bit more to the point. I agree that recorder flute sounds funny. JHK

Yes, we have a musical instruments page. This got started when I was integrating the list of instruments from music basic topics into it. The subpage is not a bad idea, other than the fact that there seems to be a rising revolt against subpages and people seems to be actively eliminating them... --Alan Millar

As there was very little about any other kind of recorder at recorder, and as I couldn't think of a way there ever could be, I've moved the content once here to there. "Recorder flute" is a very rare usage, as far as I know. --Camembert 01:45 Sep 7, 2002 (UCT)
